In a game against the Utah Hockey Club on Monday night, former Montreal Canadiens goalie Jake Allen set an NHL record that has never been surpassed.

General Manager Tom Fitzgerald completely redesigned the Devils' goaltending staff in New Jersey last summer. Before acquiring Markstrom and Jake Allen, he first parted ways with Vitek Vanacek and Mackenzie Blackwood.
The team's top goalie, Markstrom, has a 2-2 record in four games so far this season, while Allen has played in two and is unbeaten. In his first shutout of the season, he stopped every shot the new NHL team attempted against the Utah Hockey Club on Monday night.
Allen set a new NHL record with that incredible performance! He became the first goalie to defeat 33 NHL teams in addition to being the first to defeat the Utah HC.
Allen is the only goalie in the League with 33 victories, thanks to the expansion of the Vegas Golden Knights and Seattle Kraken and the move of the Arizona Coyotes to Utah.
On April 30, 2011, Allen made his NHL debut after being selected by the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the 2008 Draft. He played 1:07 in a relief appearance. On February 13, 2013, the following season, he defeated the Detroit Red Wings for the first time.
Allen played for the Blues for seven years, winning the Stanley Cup in 2019 before being traded to Montreal to play for the Canadiens for four seasons. Allen played in the 2021 Stanley Cup Final as Carey Price's partner. He was then traded by the Canadiens to the New Jersey Devils on March 8, 2024, in exchange for a conditional third-round draft pick.
Tomorrow, the New Jersey Devils will return to action when they play the Senators in Ottawa. Although Allen has been playing well, it wouldn't be shocking to see the former Montreal Canadiens take the ice against the Washington Capitals on Saturday.
