Former Penguins Fan Favourite Nick Bonino Signs New Deal

Former Stanley Cup champion and fan favorite of the Pittsburgh Penguins Nick Bonino has signed a new deal with HK Olimpija Ljubljana in the ICEHL.
Forward Nick Bonino has signed a one-year contract with ICEHL's HK Olimpija Ljubljana.
The 36-year-old had played 45 games for the New York Rangers of the NHL last season, scoring five points, through one goal, and four assists.

In 868 NHL games, Bonino has compiled 358 career points, with 159 goals and 199 assists between 2010-2024. He also secured consecutive Stanley Cup titles with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017.
Born in Hartford, Bonino has represented Team USA in three World Championships with 12 points, six goals, and six assists, in 24 games and the bronze medal winner in both 2015 and 2018.
Nick Bonino has had a solid and praise-worthy career in the NHL since his debut in 2009. Versatility and hockey IQ have been common descriptions of Bonino as he has been able to be a vital two-way forward, blending offensive and defensive responsibilities.
Those back-to-back Stanley Cup wins with Pittsburgh really solidified his legacy in the league and with the organization.
Bonino was really able to produce in the clutch, especially during playoff time. He is also highly respected for faceoff proficiency, penalty killing, and leadership.
