After Nedeljkovic helped the WBS Penguins get a win against the rival Leigh Valley Phantoms Friday night. He confirmed that he is "feeling good" now and ready to compete for that goaltending spot on the Penguins. He also addressed the three goaltenders wanting to stay and play on Pittsburgh.
The assumed starter going into the season, Tristan Jarry, has not played up to his abilities to start the year. So far this year he is 1-1 with a 5.47 GAA and a dismal .836 SV%. He was pulled from the Sabres game after allowing three goals on five shots. Blomqvist came in to help the Penguins get the OT win. Jarry opened up about what he was going through
Now Coach Mike Sullivan is going to have to decide, if he wants to keep three goaltenders on the team or send Blomqvist down to Wilkes-Barre. Jarry has been talked about being available for a trade, and with the way the rookie Blomqvist has been playing, it would not be out of the question.
The Penguins will start a Canadian road trip, with a game against the undefeated Winnipeg Jets today. Game is set to start at 3pm EST. If Sullivan goes with Nedeljkovic in goal for today's game and he can get the win, this can further cause concern for the future of Tristian Jarry as a Pittsburgh Penguin.
