The Philadelphia Flyers are looking to push for the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year, but with many players emerging as trade candidates, including Joel Farabee.

This 2024/25 season has started slow for the Philadelphia Flyers, and under John Tortorella, it appears the team could be losing their patience with their young core as they look to get back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
While all of the talk surrounds centre Morgan Frost, there are other young players now reportedly becoming trade candidates, with perhaps the most intriguing of all being winger Joel Farabee.
«There's a bunch of guys that I think are up for a change of scenery from the Flyers: Morgan Frost, Bobby Brink, Joel Farabee, (and) to a lesser extent, Tyson Foerster. They are all guys that you could see on the move at some point in time.»

The 24-year old had a career high 50 points a season ago, but with just three goals and 8 points in 22 games played this year, it appears the team are considering moving on from him.
Unlike other young Flyers, Farabee is inked long-term, carrying a $5 million salary cap hit over the next three seasons after 2024/25, and following a report from Frank Seravalli, we know at least three teams could be intrigued.
Firstly is the Pittsburgh Penguins, who could add a key piece alongside Sidney Crosby on the top line, with Farabee tallying 20 goals twice in his five year career, a number that could likely go up alongside one of the best passers in NHL history.
Not only would he give them a win-now option, but would also present a long-term solution at just 24-years of age, and while many believe Kyle Dubas will be a seller at the trade deadline, buying young on players like Farabee would not be a bad idea.
Next up would be the New York Rangers, who could be an intriguing replacement for Chris Kreider if the team do look to move him, and with the speed and the motivation to make a difference on a contender, he could be just the shakeup this team is looking for.
Lastly is the Calgary Flames, who are missing elite level, proven young talent, and getting someone that plays all 200ft of the ice would be a fantastic upgrade in their top-six to stabilize their current lineup.
Ultimately, it appears as though Farabee, like Morgan Frost is on the way out of Philadelphia, and while he's a bit more costly than Frost, it's safe to say that if given a chance, he can be a star in the NHL.
