The Canadiens and the Senators are two teams that find themselves in situations poised to progress to the next level.

The debate sparked by the selection of Juraj Slafkovsky in 2022 pales in comparison to the controversy surrounding the Canadiens decision to pick Jesperi Kotkaniemi in 2018. Many now argue that passing up on Brady Tkachuk was a missed opportunity.
Former coach of Carey Price, Stéphane Waite has suggested a trade involving Juraj Slafkovsky for Brady Tkachuk. Both players are wingers expected to shine in their NHL careers. Slafkovsky, aged 20 impressed with 35 points in his 39 games of the season.
On the side Brady Tkachuk, 24 years old accumulated 43 points in his recent 43 games. These players are on track to achieve over 80 points per season.
Despite this potential Waite feels Ottawa would turn down the trade offer.
Stéphane Waite would not be ready to part with Juraj Slafkovsky to acquire Brady Tkachuk.

This proposal would be "a red flag" from Ottawa:

"I believe Slafkovsky will become a better overall player."

I share Waites sentiment wholeheartedly.
The Canadiens have struck gold with Slafkovsky, who is making waves with Slovakia at the World Championship. Even though he has only competed in, around 100 NHL matches Slafkovskys talent is clear and, on the rise.
