A report coming from the Athletic has just revealed that almost all New York Rangers players are available to be traded, with the exception of just two untouchables.

New York Rangers GM Chris Drury is certainly one of the more bold general managers of late, having seemingly little issue naming names of a couple of veterans, Jacob Trouba, less surprisingly, and Chris Kreider, more so, as trade chips.

They are not the only ones attracting the attention of general manager Chris Drury, however, who is keen on stirring up his side's miserable start to the season.

This is why Peter Baugh, for 'The Athletic', took stock of what is happening now by breaking down Rangers players into different "trade tiers."

For this breakdown, only two players are considered "untouchable," while several others are simply "young potential trade chips."

Untouchables

Adam Fox: With three consecutive 70-plus-point seasons, two All-Star nods, and the 2021 Norris Trophy, he is one of the cornerstones on the New York Rangers roster. As Baugh said, there's no scenario where trading him makes sense for the team.

Alexis Lafreniere: The 2020 No. 1 pick exploded for 28 goals, 29 assists, and 57 points last season. Only 23, Lafreniere is also signed for seven more seasons, so he's very much part of the club's longer-term plan.

Young Potential Trade Chips

K'Andre Miller: Despite a slow start this season, the former first-round pick has value on the trade market. With restricted free agency looming and with the player having stopped negotiating on an extension, the Rangers could be looking at a significant return.

Kaapo Kakko: The former No. 2 overall pick is on a one-year, $2.4 million "prove-it" deal. While performing steadily this season, his affordable contract and two-way game make him an appealing trade candidate.

Speaking of which, regarding Trouba and Kreider, Baugh does include them as possible trade chips, but he does say any trades that might involve those veterans wouldn't happen until this summer.
