The Vancouver Canucks have been at the centre of much trade speculation in recent times, with the team reportedly receiving trade interest in absent forward J.T. Miller, especially from the New York Rangers.
With other teams reportedly set to get involved in the Miller sweepstakes, President Jim Rutherford has now stepped in and made his stance on J.T.'s future clear, and he did so by confirming that the team aren't shopping him at all.
This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone, as Miller has become a fan favourite in Vancouver, and he's made it clear just how much the city and the team mean to him as a player.
In fact, Rutherford took this a step further during an interview, calling out a reporter and warning them not to start making things up given Miller's current situation.
While many have criticized Miller for his slow start to the year, through 17 games he had posted 6 goals and 16 points, making him one of the highest scoring players on the team at that time.
However, he's now taking a leave of absence and his return date is unknown, so for now, all we know is that Vancouver have no desire to move him and will indeed hope to get him back on the ice as soon as they can.
