Arber Xhekaj, a real enforcer for the Montreal Canadiens, recently engaged in another fight, this time against Zack MacEwen of the Ottawa Senators.
Arber Xhekaj has been embroiled in a major controversy for hitting Tim Stutzle and fighting Cedric Pare after the latter injured star Patrik Laine. Xhekaj engaged in another wild fight tonight with the Ottawa Senators fighter Zack MacEwen.

A physical game between the two sides was set in motion by this fight. The Canadiens and Senators were engulfed in chaos shortly after this fight. Kaiden Guhle, a defenseman for the Montreal Canadiens, took a hit near the benches, setting off a full-linefight. In a massive scrum that can be seen below, the two teams paired off and proceeded to wrestle each other to the ground.
There have now been several incidents of fighting between the Senators and Canadiens this season. Both teams have a lot of players who are willing to fight and play a physical style.
Without a doubt, Xhekaj had his best game of the season tonight-not because he made it onto the scoreboard, but rather because he demonstrated self-control and appropriate role-playing. The fact that he was finally made available to the media tonight for the first time since the Laine injury is most definitely not a coincidence.
Now that the preseason has concluded, St. Louis faces some crucial decision. After having the day off tomorrow, the Canadiens will practice at 10:30 AM on Monday and return to Brossard.
Teams can turn in their opening-day rosters by 5:00 PM on Monday. The Canadiens currently have over $2 million more than the cap and will need to comply by that date. Given that Kent Hughes expressed his desire to avoid placing Price on LTIR at the beginning of the season in order to maximize cap relief, it is possible that he will send someone to Laval purely for cap compliance.
