After two disappointing seasons with Edmonton, Jack Campbell's tenure with the team has come to an end as they officially bought him out ahead of free agency.

Two years ago in free agency, the Edmonton Oilers believed they had found their future star goaltender when they lured Jack Campbell away from the Toronto Maple Leafs. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare as Campbell struggled with a 3.61 GAA and an .886 save percentage over 41 games with the team.
After Stuart Skinner assumed the starting role, it became clear that Campbell's time with the team was coming to an end. Now, the team has officially placed him on unconditional waivers with the intention of buying out his contract.
BREAKING: Jack Campbell's time in Edmonton is coming to an end

At 32 years old, Campbell's future is uncertain, but if he can secure a spot in the NHL away from the pressures of a Canadian market, there's ample opportunity for him to rejuvenate his career and contribute significantly. With free agency looming, the demand for backup goaltenders is evident, so it's worth monitoring Campbell's destination in the days ahead.
