Gretzky faces backlash from angry Oilers fans due to controversial online trend
Keith Gretzky, younger brother of Wayne Gretzky, has recently been the subject of criticism from Oilers fans due to negative comments directed at him online.
Keith Gretzky assumed the role of assistant GM for the Edmonton Oilers in 2016. With Ken Holland stepping down as general manager, Keith is now considered the leading candidate to fill that position.
«Again, I think Keith Gretzky can be Oilers' GM going forward. He's very smart, he's put the work in, he runs the farm team. There's such thing as rewarding and trusting people from within an organization with an advancement. Carolina did it with Eric Tulsky.»
Oilers fans expressed outrage upon learning this, causing Keith Gretzky to trend negatively on social media. Despite the Oilers' front office managing the offseason smoothly thus far, fans vehemently oppose him taking over the team.
Since joining the Oilers in 2016, Keith has made significant contributions to the organization. However, rumors suggest he may not be fully committed to assuming a major role, sparking considerable backlash from fans.
