The hockey world recently learned that Mikko Koskinen, the well-regarded former NHL goalie for the Edmonton Oilers, is retiring from professional hockey.

At 36, Koskinen is stepping away from the rink to pursue a new path in the sports industry as a sports agent.
The Edmonton Oilers have faced challenges in securing reliable goaltending over recent years, but Koskinen was a standout performer during his prime. His tenure with the Oilers was marked by a significant impact, showcasing his talent between the pipes. Koskinen's career includes a notable stint with HC Lugano in Switzerland, where he concluded his playing career with a 2.78 goals-against average.
Koskinen's journey began with the New York Islanders, who drafted him in the second round of the 2009 NHL Draft.
Despite a brief NHL debut with the Islanders, he returned to Europe before making a comeback to the NHL in the 2018-19 season.
Over four seasons with the Oilers, Koskinen demonstrated his capabilities with a 2.75 goals-against average and a 0.917 save percentage at his peak.
We wish Mikko Koskinen the best as he embarks on his new career in the agency business.
