Nazem Kadri might be eyeing a move back to a previous team as Calgary Flames head into a rebuild.

When the Calgary Flames signed Nazem Kadri to a seven-year deal, they aimed for a competitive run throughout his contract. However, two years in, the team is now officially in rebuild mode. Following trades of key players like Jacob Markstrom and Andrew Mangiapane, Kadri may be the next to go.
According to insider David Pagnotta, the Flames are considering trading Kadri, and despite his no-movement clause, he appears open to a return to a former team.
"My understanding with respect to (Kadri) is that he's willing to waive (the no-move clause) for the right situation. I think he would welcome a return to Colorado or farther East, somewhere closer to home."
It remains uncertain if discussions between the Flames and Kadri about a trade have progressed significantly. Given Calgary's projected timeline of at least three years before contending for the playoffs, Kadri's desire to leave makes sense. Toronto could also be a viable destination, especially with John Tavares potentially departing next year, allowing Kadri to step into the 2C role. Expect further developments as the off-season continues.
