Hockey game takes an unexpected turn with a goalie's marriage proposal
Following a game in an Ohio beer league, two goalies met for the traditional post-match handshake, and one of them dropped to his knee on the ice to propose to his girlfriend.
While hockey and summertime typically don't mix, a heartwarming story recently emerged from an Ohio beer league that captured many hearts.
A goalie proposed to his girlfriend, who happened to be the opposing team's goalie, right after their game. As both teams gathered at center ice for handshakes, the goalie took a knee on his pad and asked for her hand in marriage. With her team's recent 8-3 victory still fresh in her mind, she joyfully accepted.
After his team got thumped 8-3, he still managed to pick up a win after the game 😂 💍
Goalies are known for their quirky habits and pre-game superstitions. While it's unclear what their future children might face, having two goalies as parents could very well nurture the next generation of Vezina Trophy contenders. Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
