The Lightning and Penguins tuned out the year less impressively than either were expecting. After Pittsburgh just missed a chance at the playoffs, Tampa Bay could not make it happen against Florida Panthers and lost in Game 5 of the first round.
Hoping to not miss another shot at the Cup this year, the Tampa Bay Lightning took a huge swing on one of the most sought-after players this trade season. They have officially acquired rights to Carolina Hurricanes forward Jake Guentzel and hope to sign him as soon as possible.
Both Svejkovsky and MacArthur are forwards who have yet to make their NHL debut. Yet, with bold performances in the ECHL, they may get a chance in the upcoming seasons. Hopefully, whatever their role in the lineup, will be a solid move for both teams and players. If not, it could be a fumble come the 2024-25 playoffs.
