Pulock and Pelech are dependable defensemen, but Treliving emphasized in his season-ending press conference that he aims to significantly improve the team for the upcoming season. Acquiring Pelech or Pulock wouldn't represent a substantial upgrade but rather maintain the current status quo.
If the Islanders aim to secure a star player from Toronto, they'll likely need to offer a star player in return.
While many Leafs fans are eyeing Noah Dobson, it would be unexpected to see the Isles trade him unless he requests it.
