EA Sports has found itself in a huge mix-up, leaking the cover for NHL 25 ahead of the official reveal. The cover of the upcoming game will prominently feature all three Hughes brothers, setting a notable precedent for the series.
The new game, set to be released in the coming month, was accidentally unveiled through a trailer that briefly appeared on YouTube before being promptly removed. Noah Strang of Daily Hive broke the news on social media, showcasing the trailer that revealed Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks and his brothers Jack and Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils as the cover stars.
Noah Strang shared the leaked trailer on his X account, which can be viewed here: The footage shows that the Hughes brothers are the main players featured on the cover of NHL 25, marking a unique choice for EA Sports.
This marks the first time since NHLPA Hockey '93 that a cover will feature three players, with Mike Richter, Randy Moller, and Rod Brind'Amour gracing the cover back then. It also stands out as the first time brothers will be featured on the cover of an EA Sports NHL game since 2011, when the Vancouver Canucks' Daniel and Henrik Sedin appeared on NHL 11.
The official trailer's release is scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd at 11 am ET on EA Sports NHL's YouTube channel.
