Dallas Stars screw Gary Bettman costing him millions in shock move
The NHL's streaming and viewing problems have been a concern, and the Stars' recent change could pose a significant challenge for Gary Bettman.
The Dallas Stars have frequently led the way in change and innovation within the NHL, and now they've launched a service beneficial to all fans in the Stars TV market. According to a report, the team has introduced Victory+, a service in partnership with A Parent Media Co., allowing fans to watch the team for free.
The Dallas Stars have launched a free in-market streaming service for fans called Victory+. It's a 7-year deal with A Parent Media Co. Again, if you live in Stars TV market it is now free to watch the team.
Considering how much Gary Bettman and the NHL prioritize revenue, this move could potentially cost the league millions due to a decline in fan subscriptions to other streaming services like ESPN+. Fans, however, couldn't be more thrilled with the idea.
Many questions remain about the service and whether it will be permitted league-wide if other teams follow suit. For now, however, this is a significant victory for fans in the Dallas area and something other teams will undoubtedly consider replicating.
Stay tuned for more.
