Alex Ovechkin disinterested in Washington Capitals due to lackluster signings
Alex Ovechkin jokingly approved of the Washington Capitals' offseason moves with a thumbs-up emoji.
Ovi's use of a thumbs-up emoji in response to Capitals GM Brian MacLellan adding 7 players in a retooling might seem like approval at first, but it actually suggests the opposite.
MacLellan said Ovechkin texted him a 👍 after the Dubois trade 😂
The Capitals' first-round playoff sweep by the New York Rangers prompted GM MacLellan to vigorously revamp the roster this offseason. Ovi's response has turned the situation into something of a jest, although a first-round sweep is no trivial matter.
When asked by @Tarik_ElBashir what input Alex Ovechkin has had on the
@Capitals offseason moves, general manager Brian MacLellan said Ovi sent over a thumbs up emoji.
Setting jokes aside, Ovechkin and the Capitals need to take serious action to avoid another postseason sweep next year. If they don't perform, MacLellan may not find Ovi's response so funny anymore.
