Max Pacioretty has had a tumultuous NHL career, captaining the Montreal Canadiens, joining the Vegas Golden Knights, and moving between teams across the league.

After enduring two significant leg injuries during his time with the Carolina Hurricanes, Max Pacioretty spent last season with the Washington Capitals. According to Washington Capitals GM Brian MacLennan, Pacioretty will not be returning to the team, preparing to join another team this off-season.
During a recent press conference, MacLennan confirmed that both Max Pacioretty and Stanley Cup champion Nicolas Aube-Kubel, who are unrestricted free agents (UFA), will not be coming back to the Washington Capitals.
The Washington Capitals will head into the July 1 deadline for re-signing scheduled unrestricted free agents with neither Max Pacioretty nor Nicolas Aube-Kubel signed to extensions.

Pacioretty and Aube-Kubel stand as the only unrestricted free agents on the team's NHL roster. Capitals GM Brian MacLellan stated during his pre-draft media session on Thursday that he does not intend to retain either winger before the deadline or when they enter the open market.

«They're free agents. Unlikely that they would be back with us.»
Max Pacioretty has enjoyed a lengthy NHL career, and this chapter may plausibly mark its conclusion. As a former captain, he boasts a storied career.
