According to multiple reports, the Vegas Golden Knights have acquired Lavoie back from Edmonton, continuing the young forward's back-and-forth between the two teams.
The Oilers then claimed him back on Wednesday from the Golden Knights; however, he was not involved in any of the team's disastrous 6-0 opening-round losses. Lavoie was placed back on waivers by the Oilers on Thursday.
The unfortunate part of this situation is that NHL waivers were created to give players who weren't selected for a deep roster a chance to join another NHL team. Unfortunately, Raph Lavoie, who rejoins the AHL in a new organization, won't experience that. At least he can try to prove himself and potentially make it back to the big leagues with the Golden Knights.
