Vancouver Canucks forward Pius Suter has recently grabbed attention for reasons beyond the ice. Ahead of his second season with the team, Suter took to social media to share some thrilling personal news.
The Swiss forward, who had a successful first season with the Canucks, has announced his marriage to Sara at a picturesque ceremony in Lake Como, Italy.
Pius Suter's successful first season with the Canucks
Last summer, Pius Suter signed a two-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks, valued at $1.6 million per season. In his debut season with the team, Suter showed his worth by notching 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) along with 16 penalty minutes and a plus-17 rating over 67 games. He also contributed three points in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Heading into the new season, Suter is expected to play as the Canucks' fourth-line center, flanked by newly-signed forwards Danton Heinen and Kiefer Sherwood. If he continues to perform well in this role, he could become a key depth piece for Vancouver. A strong season might even lead to a contract extension before his current deal expires in July 2025.
Everyone at Hockey Trade Rumours extends their heartfelt congratulations to Pius Suter and his wife Sara on their marriage. The couple's wedding at Lake Como was a beautiful event, celebrated with close family and friends.
