Frank Seravalli Reveals Expected Return for Canucks' Dakota Joshua
Good news revealed today for Vancouver Canucks forward Dakota Joshua, as he will most likely rejoin the team very soon.
The 28-year-old forward, who was sidelined to begin the season due to recuperation from a testicular cancer treatment procedure, returned to the team for their most recent four-game road trip and made it to the ice for their Saturday morning skate in Philadelphia.
"Unfortunately, I will not be ready for the start of training camp as I continue to heal from surgery. I plan on returning to play as soon as possible this season and I am working hard every day (to) rejoin my teammates.
At the start of training camp, the Vancouver Canucks forward revealed that his off-season surgery for testicular cancer had gone well.
Now, NHL insider Frank Seravalli reveals the expected return to action for Joshua could be within a 1-2 week period.
It is not very difficult to move Joshua from the injured reserve (IR) to the active roster. The Canucks currently have 23 players on the roster, including two goalies, eight defenders, and 13 forwards. One of the extra defensemen or that extra forward will need to leave in order to re-activate Joshua.
Canucks signed the talented forward to a 4-year term in June.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announces that the #Canucks have agreed to terms with forward Dakota Joshua on a four-year contract with a $3.25 million AAV.
The 28-year-old Joshua participated in 63 games for the Canucks last season, recording 60 penalty minutes, 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists), and a +19 plus-minus rating. He surpassed his prior bests from the 2022-2023 season and set career highs in goals, assists, and points.
