Forward Pius Suter discusses his future with the Vancouver Canucks

During an interview with the German website of NHL.com, Suter opened up about his 2023-24 season performance, admitting that although he was happy with it all in the end, he thought there was still space for development.
Although he acknowledged that it was difficult to recover from a lower-body injury that sidelined him for 14 games in November, he ultimately thought that his performance was strong.

"I would say it was pretty good. Solid. I was also happy with the success as a team.
Yes, I would agree. I think I could have done a bit better in terms of stats. But in terms of playing, it was pretty good." Suter said.
The Swiss forward, who played 67 games and accumulated 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists), also expressed satisfaction with the team's overall success. Despite missing a chunk of the season, Suter's impact was felt, particularly during the Canucks' push for the playoffs. His plus-17 rating and contributions in the postseason were testaments to his consistent play on both ends of the ice.
While satisfied with the team's achievements, Suter admitted he felt he could have been more productive. "Yes, I would agree. I think I could have done a bit better in terms of stats. But in terms of playing, it was pretty good," Suter stated, reflecting on his offensive numbers.
Looking ahead, Suter is focusing on getting off to a strong start next season. He recognizes that team success often translates to individual success, noting, "if the team plays well, everyone plays well."
With his contract set to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season, Suter will become an unrestricted free agent. When asked about his future in Vancouver, the Zurich native was clear about his love for the city and the organization.
"I love playing in Vancouver. I really like it here. We'll see how it goes. I'm concentrating on playing well again, being successful with the team and getting off to a good start. Personally too, but one usually goes hand in hand with the other: if the team plays well, everyone plays well. Everything else will become clear. Maybe there will be a point in the summer when we can sit down together." Suter said.
