It seems Vincent Desharnais and J.T. Miller are wasting no time getting to know each other as new Canucks teammates.

Today, at the 40th annual "Jake" charity golf tournament in Surrey, new Canucks additions Vincent Desharnais, Keifer Sherwood, Jake Debrusk, and Danton Heinen mingled with the media alongside veterans Connor Garland and Quinn Hughes.
Held in honor of Jake Milford, the Canucks' GM in the late 70s and early 80s, the tournament commemorates his life after he succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 1984.
During the event, former Edmonton Oilers defenseman and new Canuck Vincent Desharnais brought some humor to the occasion. When Conor Garland asked what he took away from those seven games against the Canucks, the defenseman had just the right reply.
«J.T. Miller is an a**hole,» Desharnais responded with a grin on his face.
Although the comment was made in jest, it shed light on Miller's reputation. Known for his intense and often grumpy demeanor on the ice, Miller has long been a polarizing figure among fans and teammates alike. His fiery personality has sparked debates during the Canucks' challenging seasons, leading some to question whether his attitude was a problem.
Despite his outward intensity, those close to the team recognize the value Miller brings. His gritty play and relentless drive elevate those around him, and his teammates appreciate the edge he brings-even if it ruffles a few feathers. Miller might not be the easiest guy to play against, but he's exactly the type of player you want on your side during tough games.
The narrative of Miller having an "attitude problem" has largely been dismissed in recent years. His approach, once seen as too abrasive, is now viewed as an essential part of his leadership and work ethic. Teammates know his gruffness comes from a place of wanting to win at all costs, and they wouldn't have it any other way.
While Desharnais' playful remark had the room in stitches, it also served as a reminder of what makes J.T. Miller indispensable to the Canucks. His toughness may rub some people the wrong way, but it's exactly what drives him to push his team to new heights.
Both Miller and Desharnais are eager for the Canucks to top the Oilers for another Pacific Division title this season. Their first matchup is set for November 9.
