The Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers made significant lineup changes, suggesting that a big battle is probably in the works tonight.

The Maple Leafs will host the New York Rangers in Toronto on Saturday night, marking the first meeting between two of the original six teams. The Rangers have one more point in the rankings than the Leafs, despite the fact that both teams played four games this season.
For the 2024-25 season, these teams have high hopes. In fact, the Leafs, who made significant roster changes in the summer, are hoping to win their first Stanley Cup since 1967, while the Rangers are coming off a Presidents' Trophy season.
Superstars like Artemi Panarin, William Nylander, Igor Shesterkin, and Auston Matthews may be the center of attention, but fans will also be watching Ryan Reaves and Matt Rempe, two other players who are expected to be in the starting lineup.
Luke Fox disclosed on X that the two enforcers, who were benched for the majority of the season, will play tonight in Toronto:
Rempe and Reaves got into one of the most intense altercations of the previous season when these two teams last faced off, back in March.
Since that epic game, Rempe has received special training from Georges Laraque, one of the most well-known NHL enforcers in recent memory.
"If you thought Rempe was a problem this year in the NHL, wait till you see him this coming season," Laraque tweeted.

Rempe's removal from the starting lineup earlier this season drew harsh criticism from the team. In order to avoid the penalty box and make as few mistakes as possible, the player will need to demonstrate his organization.
Given the depth of the Leafs' lineup, head coach Craig Berube had to bench Reaves in the most recent game due to his patchy play. It goes without saying that Rempe and Reaves will square off in a fantastic heavyweight bout tonight! Keep an eye out.
