The Toronto Maple Leafs have welcomed Joseph Woll back to practice, and a recent report has shown when he might be able to play again.

Joseph Woll was placed on injured reserve due to a groin injury, and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been without him for the first few weeks of the NHL season. Fans were irritated by the sudden injury because they didn't know how long he would be out. As Joseph Woll finally resumed full practice today, fans gained some understanding of that query. He was observed practicing saves and taking shots on the ice.
The Toronto Maple Leafs stated following practice that Joseph Woll was not yet ready to make a comeback. The Athletic's James Mirtle made the decision to attempt to forecast Joseph Woll's return to the starting lineup. Joseph Woll could return as the backup goalie against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, according to Mirtle and his sources.
Craig Berube, the head coach, says it won't be long. He discussed Woll's injury and the possibility of his return with the media following the Maple Leafs' practice on Friday.
"Seems like he's really heading in the right direction," Berube said.
Given that this date has been made public, Joseph Woll's first potential starting date would be against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, October 24. The Toronto Maple Leafs will probably end up sending down Dennis Hildeby in the coming days as they get ready for Joseph Woll's return if this return timeline is realistic.
In his brief tenure with the Maple Leafs, Woll has been outstanding, going 21-13-1 with a 2.76 GAA and .912 SV%. He was also a major contributor to Toronto's run to Game 7 against the Boston Bruins in the previous year's Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately, Toronto lost the series because he hurt himself in the final seconds and was unable to play in Game 7.
Woll's journey to recover from injury has advanced significantly, and he hopes to pick up speed soon or risk sitting on the bench while his backup takes the team to victory.
