The Anaheim Ducks have undergone significant changes to their coaching staff this offseason, which included the dismissal of multiple assistants. Craig Johnson and Newell Brown, who had served multiple stints with the team, were relieved of their duties.
Today, the Anaheim Ducks filled one of those roles by hiring Rich Clune, former assistant coach of the Toronto Marlies. Clune joins the Ducks after three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.
While with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Rich Clune served as a development coach before being promoted to assistant coach of the Toronto Marlies. The Ducks are adding a coach with a proven track record of player development in the AHL to their young core. Now, Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs will need to find his replacement.
