Alex Nylander opens up about his move to the Toronto Maple Leafs
As summer winds down, Alex Nylander is eagerly anticipating his chance to report to the Toronto Maple Leafs training camp.
Recently signed by the Leafs' AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies, Nylander is determined to make a significant impact and secure a spot on the NHL roster. Despite facing challenges in recent seasons, the forward is more motivated than ever to prove himself and reunite with his brother, William.
Alex Nylander on signing with the Leafs organization, what it means to him, and his mindset going forward:
"To be with him on the Leafs would be amazing, a dream come true. I've watched him and the Leafs play a lot over the years and know a lot of what they do. I can't wait for that chance to come,» he said. «But I know I have to prove myself first. It's been a long wait to get back on the ice.
I hope to come to Toronto in early September to join the summer skates prior to the main training camp. When that time comes, I'll have to prove myself. The injury and all that is in the past. I'm more determined than ever. I'm ready for this."

On July 28th, the Toronto Marlies revealed that Alex Nylander had agreed to a one-year contract with the team. At 26, Nylander is poised for a promising career. His previous season was a mix of experiences with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Although he played just five games with the Penguins without scoring, he performed better with the Blue Jackets, registering 15 points in 23 games.

The timing of Nylander's signing is particularly noteworthy, following a social media post by William Nylander that showed him and Alex working out together. This led to speculation that William might have influenced the Leafs' decision to bring his brother on board, a theory that appears to be confirmed.

Alex Nylander joining his brother William in Toronto adds to a LONG list of siblings currently playing in the same NHL organization 🤯
Alex Nylander faces high expectations, especially given his brother William's impressive performance last season, where William fell just two points short of the 100-point mark in 82 games.
