Yet, after putting up an impressive performance in his age 36 season with 42 goals and 52 assists in 82 games, it was not enough to shoot the Pittsburgh Penguins into the final wildcard spot for the 2024 NHL playoffs. Despite his continued high-caliber performance, a former teammate of his pleaded with him to leave the team after 19 years, but perhaps not for the reason you would think.
On a recent edition of the Spittin' Chiclets Podcast, former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney suggested that it would be best for Sidney Crosby to play on another NHL team to give him a chance at one more Cup before ending his career, cementing his spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
