The Pittsburgh Penguins have started their fire sale already, and according to reporters, many more trades are expected to follow.

This season hasn't started the way that the Pittsburgh Penguins would have liked, with the team sitting well under .500 in a loaded Eastern Conference, which isn't a good sign for them.
After a huge loss to the Dallas Stars, the team moved veteran forward Lars Eller, and with things seemingly not getting much better, chatter around the league is that the organization are ready to become sellers.
It's been mentioned how the team's intention is to sell, and while a full rebuild isn't in the Penguins future, The Athletic's Rob Rossi has emphatically stated that more trades are coming.
«Trading Lars Eller is only the beginning, so long as the Penguins' current trend continues.»
While Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are reportedly untouchables for GM Kyle Dubas, one of their fellow veterans may not be in the same class, as reported by Rossi.
«Kris Letang might be the most interesting player in this equation.

While he signed a six-year deal with the Penguins in 2022 with a desire to finish his career in Pittsburgh, I've never sensed from Letang that playing for a different franchise would trouble him the way it would Crosby and Malkin.

It would be in the Penguins' best interest to move his contract if possible. The big question is whether other teams would be interested in his contract.»

That would be a major shock for the Penguins, who have seen Letang on their blue line for all of their Stanley Cup success in the modern era, but if the team can find a good suitor, it makes sense to move him and collect future assets.
As for the rest of the team, names like Marcus Pettersson, Rickard Rackell, Ryan Graves, Erik Karlsson and Tristan Jarry are all of interest to teams around the league, but keep an especially close eye on Letang as the team continue to struggle at 7-10-3 on the season.
