Pittsburgh Penguins sign defenseman Sebastian Aho
The Pittsburgh Penguins organization has signed the defenseman Sebastian Aho, who leaves the New York Islanders, the team that drafted him back in 2017.
In the first day of free agency, Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins made many moves, but nothing major.
They signed Blake Lizotte, Matt Grzelcyk, Anthony Beauvillier, Bokondji Imama, Emil Bemstrom, Nathan Clurman, Mac Hollowell, Ryan Shea and Jimmy Huntington.
In breaking news, Dubas and the Pens announced another signature at the blue line: Sebastian Aho (Islanders).
"Sebastian Aho (no, not that one) is a Penguin."
"Hearing that former #Isles D Sebastian Aho, who wanted to be back with the club, is heading to the #Pens.
That means, for now, Samuel Bolduc is NYIs 7th defenseman for 2024-25 " Aho, 28, played 190 NHL games with the New York Islanders and scored 50 points, including 11 goals. The two-way defenseman also has a +52 plus/minus in his career, highlighting his efficiency in his zone.
As of now, nothing indicates that the Penguins are done making moves on the free agent market. Dubas looks determined to make the necessary moves to give his team an opportunity to win another Stanley Cup with their current core.
Make sure to stay tuned for any further development concerning the Pens.
