Due to travel issues, the Pittsburgh Penguins are delayed getting into Detroit as Hurricane Helene has been pummeling the East Coast.

The game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings was supposed to go on as scheduled tonight, but that's no longer the case. Not to worry Penguins fans, the game will still be taking place, just later than expected.
By virtue of an update provided via the Red Wings, they have just made a somewhat substantial adjustment in their preseason game schedule for this evening. The game, originally set for later today, will be pushed back an hour and a half.
Originally set to drop the puck at 7:00 pm EST, it has moved back to 8:30 pm EST to allow for fan arrival to the arena, as well as to allow the Penguins more time to settle in since they arrived in Detroit late.
The Detroit Red Wings preseason game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, originally scheduled to start at 7 PM tonight at Little Caesars Arena, is now estimated to start at 8:30 PM due to Pittsburgh experiencing travel issues.

Doors to Little Caesars Arena will open at 5:30 PM as originally scheduled.
The Red Wings are blaming travel issues that necessitated the Penguins' arrival later than initially expected as the reasoning behind this decision.
The silver lining to this for attendees is that, yes, the arena doors will still open at the time originally planned, and fans can enjoy the state-of-the-art amenities of the Wings' modern facility while they wait for the opening puck drop. There's still a remote possibility of a further delay, but this proposed start time should stand. Further updates will follow on the developing situation.
