One NHL GM suggested to Sportsnet's Jeff Marek that Pierre-Luc Dubois could be on the move, possibly to the Washington Capitals.

The GM proposed that a trade involving Capitals' goaltender Darcy Kuemper might benefit both teams:
The Kings are searching for goaltending and the Caps could use the help up front.

Jeff Marek from Sportsnet just dropped a very intriguing statement on the Dubois Situation:
«Regarding Pierre-Luc Dubois, I received a message from an NHL team executive (not Los Angeles or Washington) who wondered if a trade in which the Capitals acquired Dubois and the Kings received Darcy Kuemper could make sense for both teams.»

- Jeff Marek

Dubois joined the Kings from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for forwards Gabriel Vilardi, Alex Iafallo, Rasmus Kupari, and a second-round pick in this year's draft. He was signed to an eight-year, $68-million contract shortly before being traded to the Kings as part of a sign-and-trade. The high expectations surrounding his move have not been met, leading to questions about whether Los Angeles is the right fit for him.
While it's unclear if Washington is a better destination, the Kings might consider the proposed trade to address their need for an upgrade in goaltending. Dubois, on the other hand, remains focused on improving his performance.
He stated:
I have to be better. At the end of the day, I'm the one who's responsible. (...) I'm ready to do anything to have a better season next year.

The key question remains: Are the Kings willing to make a one-for-one trade with the Capitals to improve their roster?
