The Edmonton Oilers have secured free-agent forward Jeff Skinner on a one-year deal, offering significant upside for the team.

The Edmonton Oilers have made a noteworthy move by signing former 40-goal scorer Jeff Skinner to an economical contract.
Sources say #Oilers are landing forward Jeff Skinner.
1 year x $3 million for Skinner in Edmonton.

Skinner tallied 24 goals and 46 points with the Buffalo Sabres last season, leading GM Kevyn Adams to buy out the remaining three years of his contract.
Skinner has played 1006 career games, scoring 357 goals and 670 points, but has never made the playoffs. Both his former teams, the Carolina Hurricanes and Buffalo Sabres, experienced lengthy playoff droughts during Skinner's tenure.
Now with the Oilers, Skinner aims to reach the playoffs and potentially set career-high scoring totals alongside Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl. While not the same style player as Zach Hyman, Skinner could benefit similarly from playing alongside elite talents, potentially boosting his scoring totals.
