Breaking news today as Evander Kane's recovery from recent playoff injuries has hit a snag, with surgery becoming a likely option.

The forward might miss the start of training camp and land on Long Term Injury Reserve.
In a concerning update for hockey fans, it appears that Evander Kane is facing a significant hurdle in his recovery process. According to a recent report by Bob Stauffer on X, Kane may require surgery, which could delay his return for the upcoming training camp.
Stauffer's report suggests that there's a substantial chance Kane will not be ready for the start of the season. This development could see him placed on Long Term Injury Reserve (LTIR), impacting his availability for the initial part of the season.

This offseason, the Edmonton Oilers have bolstered their roster with notable acquisitions such as Viktor Arvidsson, Jeff Skinner, and Matthew Savoie, enhancing their depth for the upcoming season. Should Kane's recovery extend into the season, the Oilers still have the talent to start strong.
Additionally, if Kane is placed on Long Term Injury Reserve (LTIR), the Oilers might adopt a strategy similar to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Vegas Golden Knights, utilizing LTIR funds to strengthen their lineup and potentially activate Kane for the playoffs.
Stay tuned as we continue to monitor this situation and provide updates on Kane's condition and recovery.
