Edmonton Oilers' forward Evander Kane successfully underwent surgery
Oilers forward Evander Kane, 33, took to social media to express gratitude to the medical staff after a successful surgery to repair multiple injuries.
Management disclosed that Kane was still dealing with the injuries that kept him out of playoff games when official team practices began. In fact, Kane needed extensive surgery to fix two hernias, both of his abdominal tears, and his abductors.

On Friday an official update had been revealed, as Kane shared a photo of himself on his Instagram page, looking happy and content following surgery. He gave the camera a big smile and a thumbs up.
While Kane has been a reliable player when he's on the ice, he also has a history of getting himself involved in controversy, particularly in Winnipeg. Kane has been plagued by injuries for the majority of his career, including cracked ribs with the Buffalo Sabres, an ankle injury with the Winnipeg Jets, and an undisclosed upper body injury with San Jose.
Over his career, he's tallied 326 goals and 291 assists across 930 games, showcasing his undeniable talent. He has managed to play 75 or more games only twice and has had several seasons with fewer than 60 games played. His peak performance was with the Winnipeg Jets, scoring 30 goals and 27 assists over 74 games-not a complete season, but enough to demonstrate his potential when he's active for the majority of the year.
However, if Kane could consistently stay healthy, his statistics might be even more impressive.
As he recovers, the Oilers and their fans hope that a fully healthy Kane can return to the ice and consistently showcase the talent that has made him a formidable player. His potential to elevate his game is clear, and a durable Kane could significantly impact the Oilers' performance in future seasons.
