The ongoing Jeremy Swayman contract situation with the Boston Bruins appears to be a growing concern as training camp approaches.

Fans and media have closely followed the dispute, especially after Brad Marchand's comments.
As of Saturday morning, Jeremy Swayman, a restricted free agent, remains unsigned. However, the Bruins' decision to avoid arbitration signals that both parties are working towards an agreement. Bruins leadership remains hopeful that the contract will be finalized soon, aligning with their offseason goals to retain key players.
According to a recent NESN article, Swayman participated in the captains' practice last week at Warrior Ice Arena. His presence on the ice suggests that negotiations are ongoing, but there's still uncertainty surrounding the deal.

Brad Marchand's comments stir more concern

When asked about Swayman's contract, Brad Marchand acknowledged that the topic is a significant one for both fans and the media. He remarked:
"It's a big topic of conversation with the fans and the media, and this is part of the business, and we all are really looking forward to when it does get done and the process is over and he is back with the group," Marchand told reporters Thursday, per The Boston Globe. "But that's obviously out of our hands and we don't get involved in any of that. So it'll be great when everything gets kind of squared away."
While Marchand tried to stay neutral, his lack of enthusiasm left many fans worried that the contract negotiations may be more strained than originally thought. His comments, while not overly pessimistic, did little to ease concerns that both sides might be further apart in talks than many assumed.

Head coach Jim Montgomery defers to management

Head coach Jim Montgomery also weighed in on the situation but deferred any substantial updates to General Manager Don Sweeney. Montgomery's reluctance to comment added to the speculation that the situation might not be as close to resolution as fans hope.
The Bruins remain optimistic, but only time will tell if Jeremy Swayman's contract dispute will be resolved before it affects the team's early season momentum.
