Marner has reportedly indicated his preference to stay in Toronto for the upcoming season and honor his current contract. However, he has identified a limited number of teams he would consider waiving his no-move clause for, if a suitable trade can be arranged.
According to 'The Fourth Period', Marner has earmarked four teams as potential destinations: the Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, Vegas Golden Knights, and Nashville Predators.
Insider David Pagnotta, who has detailed Marner's potential trade scenarios, suggests that Chicago might not be the ideal fit, despite the allure of pairing a skilled offensive winger with Connor Bedard.
Pagnotta also mentioned that there could be a few other potential options. Discussions will heavily revolve around salary cap considerations, especially with Marner earning $10.9 million next season.
Additionally, Pagnotta clarified that a rumor linking Marner to Utah was false, noting that the team was displeased by the misinformation spread on social media.
Marner, entering the final year of his six-year contract with Toronto, posted 26 goals, 59 assists, and 85 points in 69 games for the Leafs this past season.
