Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman unveils the Carolina Hurricanes' trade preferences for Martin Necas, with a deal potentially imminent in the coming days or weeks.

During his 32 Thoughts podcast, Friedman discussed how the Hurricanes view Necas as a player with untapped potential. As a result they are looking for a high caliber player in return for Necas. They are not keen on receiving draft picks or prospects.
"Carolina is letting people know that they consider Necas a budding star, and that's the kind of return they want...Star power is what they want in return, I heard," Friedman said.
The spotlight is now on Patrik Allvin as a candidate to acquire Necas. Rumors suggest that the Vancouver Canucks might be willing to trade Filip Hronek due to stalled contract negotiations. Could Hronek meet Carolinas criteria for a top tier player? The Canucks are looking to strengthen their lineup, which could lead to Hronek moving either to Carolina or another team.
Patrik Allvin may explore free agent options to boost Vancouvers group. Potential targets for the Canucks include, Jake Guentzel and Tyler Toffoli, who are rumored to leave their current teams - Carolina Hurricanes and Winnipeg Jets.
Should the Canucks prioritize signing a free-agent forward over pursuing a trade for Martin Necas? Share your thoughts in the poll below!
